Question

Can you recommend any good data recovery services besides drivesavers.com?

My friend's 500GB hard drive just died... he connects it and it just clicks.

Wasn't sure if there are other more affordable or effective providers.

I used Data Recovery Services by CBL (https://cbldatarecovery.ca then http://cbltech.com) in 2008 and was happy with their service. It was a hard task: RAID disks

Just to follow-up — it appears that the issue may have been that he was connecting to an underpowered USB port! The drive mounted just fine when he connected it to his more recent laptop!
