Online Data Visualization

Is there a way I can create data online and visualize it with graphics? I use Excel and I love it but how can I make it interactive? except Airtable, tableau. I am looking for the way to publish my excel dashboard online (without formula etc. just shown graphic), frankly. Thanks

You’d need to export your data to Google Sheets first, but one of the best easy-to-use (and free) options here is Google Data Studio. You connect it to your data source then build charts and and visualizations on slides, with interactive options if you want. You can then share the Data Studio dashboards directly or embed them on your site.

Another option could be to add the graphs and such you want in the spreadsheet itself (pivot tables are about as interactive as you can get in Excel, though), then save the spreadsheet to Excel Online via OneDrive. Open it online and copy the embed code, and you can then embed the sheet with the charts in your site. Not as elegant but gets the job done too. Or, similar idea, make charts from Excel, embed them in PowerPoint, save the PowerPoint to OneDrive, and embed it from PowerPoint Online.

Chartio, Microsoft BI, and other advanced data visualization tools would likely be more difficult to use, but could be worth checking into if you need more data tools.

Awesome, glad that helped!

And yup, this is perfect! There’s no single right way to use Capiche; it’s a software community where we can ask for software recommendations or tips, share expertise, and start discussions about anything related to tech and building businesses.

If you end up building charts in Google Data Studio, would love to hear how it goes!

Glad to have you around—thanks for joining in! If you have a chance, would love to have you introduce yourself in our May Meet the Community discussion!

It's still in beta, but GRID might work for this as well. It's trying to bring "spreadsheets" to the Notebook format, but without the need for code.

Also, if you're dealing with Excel, it might be worthwhile to look into Power BI, which can create interactive web-based dashboards.

Thanks for sharing, Grid looks like exactly what I was looking for recently for a data driven essay. Will have to give that a try.

Did you try signing up for the beta? I'm not aware of invite codes but I can inquire...

Looks like it's an invite-only beta; I just signed up and filled out their survey to try to get in.

Check out Metabase or Chartio. They might be able to help.

We have been standardizing on Alteryx. Our company generates lots of data. Hiring various data scientists to make sense of what our information is telling us. Alteryx allows us to make that transition easily and with out having to employ top level data engineers. Really helps to democratize our info.

What got your team to pick Alteryx over other visualization and BI tools?
