Question

The Notion API is here—how are you using it?

Notion's API is finally live in public beta, with new Notion Zapier integrations ready to automate your Notion databases at least.

Have you set up any Notion automations yet? How do you plan to use the new Notion API?

I'm going to use it to build a tracker for application crashes on Kubernetes.

Explanation: I'm CEO of a startup that automates Kubernetes operations. We're semi-early stage and our core offering right now is an open source project with no frontend other than some Retool pages. I want to use Notion to quickly add a demo frontend for our app without investing in frontend development.

Super cool. Notion's already popular for building quick landing pages; my team's recently used it to spin up a hiring page, among other things. Can imagine it'll end up being used for a lot of dashboard use-cases with the API.

I have a whole list of ideas but I'm going to surf the Zapier integration for now and build some zaps!

Nice, creating Google Calendar events from Notion would definitely be handy—that would have simplified my podcast scheduling last year. Clever sharing the Zap along with details in a Notion note!

I've been looking to integrate email with Notion. I want to send an email to create a page inside a database.
Yesterday I tried with automation.io and I could set up the automation, but currently it has a restriction of 2000 chars, so it's not very helpful

Ohhh that's too bad to hear on the limitation. In looking at Notion's API docs, looks like they've got a cap of 1000 characters per text object, and a limit of 100 objects per request ... so presumably an integration could let you send 1000 characters per paragraph, and 100 paragraphs total, for now. Seems like that limit would be nice to have increased quickly.

I want to use it to automatically create "Activity" pages based on new events I add on my Gcal. The use case is just like an email-CRM integration where I can reduce clicks after I set up a meeting with a client/prospect... all I have to do is start adding notes from my meeting rather than create the page and tag all the relevant entities (people, date, meeting type, etc.).

https://notionflow.co

we are building a tool that helps you better see what's going on in your development workflow inside Notion:

You can connect your repository, your ci/cd tool with Notion and find all the interesting information about your repo and ci/cd in one place.
NotionFlow can subscribe to the events you pick, and can push data to the page you want, in the way you customised.
