Question

What are the best website image uploader and editor libraries?

Have you ever added image uploading to your site or app—and if so, what library or tool did you use to add it?

Especially looking for tools that let users upload a photo, then select a section to crop before saving it, much like how Twitter's avatar uploader works.

Filestack and Doka both look good, so would especially love feedback if you've used either of those.

While I don’t have a lot of experience with it, there is an open source library called Uppy which could be a good fit for this.

It has a bunch of plugins and uploading options, including an Image Editor.

I am definitely interested in what other people are using!

Ohh Uppy looks nice—that might be what I'm looking for, since it lets you upload photos from a number of apps, but without a subscription like Filestack requires. Thanks for sharing!

Hey if you’re building a mobile app with react native, Expo has a great API that allows you to select and crop photos. This would be only useful if you were doing iOS or Android with react native tho

That does look nice. Working on a web app at the moment, but will definitely keep that in mind when we move towards building a mobile app!

I've got a funny use-case for a client I'm volunteering on. They're dealing with some legacy folks who work in Excel. Every week they send out an email to a series of people with an Excel sheet at...
