For web sites, I prefer the open source Matomo. Self-hosted, so first-party cookies. Reports have what I need. And I'm not handing my (or my users) data to anyone.
- Mixpanel for in-app analytics
- Google Data Studio for combining internal analytics from multiple sources
- Looker + Snowflake (Datawarehouse) + Stitch (to load data into Snowflake) for customer-facing analytics
I do use Google analytics but generating custom reports is headache. So I also use Matomo, mixpanel & hotjar to track users in my saas app. But for email tracking Google analytics is a good option.
Amplitude for event based tracking (behavioral/user-based) but Tableau for handling giant data sets in a more affordable fashion and visualization.
