What one thing do you like most about Obsidian?

One of the biggest pros of Obsidian is that the files are stored locally - on your device, not servers somewhere in the world.

Whenever your data is stored elsewhere you have two potential issues:

  1. Security of your data (can you trust them to look after it and respect your privacy?), and
  2. Ability to export your data if you want to change platforms.

Obsidian uses text files which means that if I ever want to go elsewhere it will be a simple and painless exercise to bring my data with me.
