Paletro adds a Command Palette in any macOS app (like Superhuman).

Now that I have Paletro it became even harder justifying Superhuman's 30$/month. With Paletro and BetterTouchTool for example I could replicate most of the keyboard shortcuts and UX commodities Superhuman has and spend considerably less money (Mail is free, Paletro is a one-time purchase of 7$ and BTT is also 7$ once).

What do you all think?

Interesting idea! Does it work in web apps as well? If so, Gmail already has many of the standard Superhuman keyboard shortcuts (as that's where they originated), and Paletro could add the rest via a command bar.

Looks nice but if you already have Alfred you can use https://github.com/BenziAhamed/Menu-Bar-Search to do the same.

Ah that’s super cool, thanks for sharing! I may now try this one out instead since I’m already using Alfred all day anyhow!

What apps have you found it most helpful in so far?

I just found it out 10 minutes ago! For now I'd say in Photoshop and Chrome. I saw it's even extendible so I could create my own commands for any app. I'm thinking about all the scripts I have for files and folders so I guess I'd use it a lot in the Finder.

Fun fact: Photoshop now includes a command palette of sorts, via its CMD+F menu. Discovered it while writing this article about command palettes. Only problem is it’s a bit laggy—feels like it takes a couple seconds to open—and that’s enough to break your workflow and make me less likely to use it.
