Revision note: Overview.
  • Zapier is a tool that allows you to connect different apps and automate repetitive processes. This is done by creating workflows - known as zaps - that connect a trigger with one or more search or action steps.
  • Described in simple terms, when something happens in the trigger app, the associated data can be sent to other apps. For example, when a new message is posted to a channel in Slack, you can use Zapier to add the message content and the author's username as a new row on a Google Sheet.
  • Founded by Wade Foster, Bryan Helmig, and Mike Knoop in 2011 with just a handful of apps supported, it's grown rapidly to support an ecosystem of 2,000+ apps, including an array of built-in functions like code steps and webhooks.

rejected - This need to be more fleshed out and more clear. I'm going to vote reject until we get something that describes Zapier in more detail.
